THIS COURSE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING NATIONALLY RECOGNISED UNITS OF COMPETENCY:
CPPFES2020 Conduct routine inspection and testing of fire extinguishers and fire blankets
CPPFES2010 Inspect and test fire hose reels
(INCLUDES FIRE EXTINGUISHER, FIRE BLANKETS AND FIRE HOSE REELS)
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to conduct routine monthly, six-monthly and yearly inspections and testing of fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reels. Service activities are conducted in compliance with requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC) and schedules specified in the relevant Australian Standards. The unit is suitable for those with basic skills and knowledge undertaking routine work tasks under the direction of more experienced workers. Service of in-situ portable firefighting equipment, e.g. fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reel.
This course is suitable for persons who are required to inspect fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reels as a requirement of their regular workplace duties or those who are working towards obtaining an Extinguisher agent handling licence EAHL.
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
Students must have the language, literacy, numeracy (LLN) and physical capabilities to meet the performance criteria of this unit. (For further information or if you have any concerns regarding LLN and/or physical capabilities please contact the office)
Participants must have the ability to read and write English and be able to perform practical and theoretical assessment as required.
Students must wear standard work wear, enclosed safety shoes, long shirt and pants.

Duration: 6-8 Hours

Amenities: Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. Kitchen facilities are available for those who wish to bring their own lunch. A lunch bar is 100m away.
