WHO SHOULD COMPLETE?

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker. It includes compliance with safe approach distances for the worker, plant, tools and equipment. The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace. This course is for participants undertaking work in the vicinity of live electrical equipment such as low voltage switchboard situations or powerlines. These competencies will not allow any electrical work to be conducted by non-electrical personnel, however it will educate them on the risks and dangers.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Students must have the language, literacy, numeracy (LLN) and physical capabilities to meet the performance criteria of this unit. (For further information or if you have any concerns regarding LLN and/or physical capabilities please contact the office)

  • Participants must have the ability to read and write English and be able to perform the theoretical assessment as required.

COURSE DETAILS

  • Duration: 1-2 Hours to complete the online assessment depending on experience
